What data does TubeBreak collect?

TubeBreak does NOT collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.

All data stays on your device:

  • Transcript data is scraped from YouTube’s transcript panel and stored temporarily in your browser’s memory while you view it.
  • Saved library (Pro feature) stores video titles, URLs, and transcript previews in Chrome’s local storage on your device.
  • Usage counter tracks how many transcripts you’ve used today, stored locally in Chrome’s storage.
  • License key (if you upgrade to Pro) is stored in Chrome’s local storage on your device.

What data does TubeBreak NOT collect?

  • No browsing history
  • No personal information
  • No analytics or tracking
  • No cookies
  • No data sent to any server (except LemonSqueezy for license key validation when you activate Pro)

Third-party services

LemonSqueezy is used for payment processing and license key validation. When you activate a Pro license key, your key is validated against LemonSqueezy’s API.

Permissions

TubeBreak requests access to youtube.com to inject the transcript button and sidebar on YouTube video pages. It does not access any other websites.
